STRUCTURE & BODY
(GROUP-30%)
The second project was a collaborative group effort in partnership with Taylor's Impact Lab. Our task involved designing and constructing a 1:1 structure tailored for a specific activity, with groups assigned to execute the project. This unique structure would be strategically placed within an existing dormant green space to activate its utilization. Emphasizing sustainability, our primary material for construction was bamboo, necessitating a comprehensive understanding of its inherent nature and characteristics. We were also expected to showcase a foundational knowledge of construction principles.
As part of our preparation, a technical workshop facilitated by a Bamboo Expert on campus provided valuable insights, equipping us with the necessary skills to build our own structures. This hands-on experience, combined with the integration of diverse materials, aimed to create not only functional but aesthetically pleasing structures that harmonize with the green space and contribute to its activation.
